On April 2, 2008 the eighth grade students tried to teach the Saratoga teachers and staff a few things about volleyball and basketball. The Saratoga Staff defeated the 8th grade girls in a 3 game volleyball match (18-25, 25-14 and 25-18). Immediately following the volleyball game, the victorious staff schooled the 8th grade boys in basketball with a double overtime game ending in the final score of 53-48. Thank you to all the participants that made this a special event!

Dear Parent:
I am writing to inform you that the union which represents the teachers employed by the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative has filed a notice of intent to strike. Although some of these Cooperative teachers provide services to our special education students, we want to reassure you that our own District teachers will not be on strike and our school will be open and operating.
However, there may be a temporary interruption in the services provided to our special education students if a strike is called by the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative teachers. Some of these students may be required to remain at home until we can best determine how to provide them the services they need. We will be contacting the parents of our special education students whose services will be interrupted to inform them of their child’s status.
Although the Cooperative teachers may go on strike as early as February 4, 2008, we have not been informed of when or even whether these teachers will go on strike. We will keep you updated on the District’s website at http://saratoga.mornet.org and through further written communication.
Again, we expect that our school will be staffed by our own District teachers and will be open and operating without disruption.
Very truly yours,
Kathy Perry
Superintendent
