Second Grade Technology Curriculum

Students work cooperatively and independently to build on the skills taught during first grade. Computer skills will be used to enhance learning throughout the curriculum.

 

Technical Awareness/Fundamentals

Identify the following: computer, keyboard, mouse, printer, CD-ROM, CD-ROM drive

Demonstrate proper care of hardware and software

Demonstrate the ability to access programs from student work folder

Operate computer and programs with oral directions

Demonstrate knowledge of computer terminology (Build on K and 1st grade)

Understand relevance of everyday use of computers

Proficient use of the printer

Increase knowledge of the computer keyboard

Locate numbers and letters on the keyboard

Understand the use of the mouse, return key and other special function keys as needed in program operations

Select items from the pull down menu

Demonstrate correct typing style (posture and hand placement)

 

Instructional Application of Technology

Utilize computers to enhance learning and accommodate different learning styles

Create a cooperative environment for learning

 

Interact with a variety of software:
