Kindergarten Technology Curriculum
Kindergarten is a time to experience many new activities and ways to learn. There are opportunities to create, socialize and encounter new learning opportunities throughout the school year.
The following technology skills are taught at a kindergarten grade developmental level and are introduced as a supplement to the existing curriculum.
Technical Awareness/Fundamentals
Identify the following: computer, screen, keyboard, mouse, CD-ROM
Operate/point and click using a mouse
Introduce proper care of hardware and software
Follow oral directions on how to properly startup and shut down a computer
Demonstrate knowledge of basic computer terminology
Locate letters and numbers on the keyboard
Understand the use of the mouse, return key, and space bar in program operations
Select items from the pull down menu
Instructional Application of Technology
Participate in a cooperative environment for learning
Interact with a variety of software programs:

Carnival Countdown
Living Books
Windows on Science
Kid Pix
Kid Works
