Fourth Grade Technology Curriculum

In fourth grade students continue to build on previously learned skills. They work cooperatively and independently to master new skills. They take on more responsibility and improve organizational skills.

Technical Awareness/Fundamentals

Save and retrieve work from the student work folder

Demonstrate the ability to properly start up and shut down a computer

Properly open and close software programs/using a CD ROM

Demonstrate ability to use and find information on the internet bookmarked sites

Operate a computer by using the pull down menu and tool bar.

Demonstrate knowledge of computer terminology

Demonstrate ability to type a document

Proficient use of the printer

 

Instructional Application of Technology

Participate in a cooperative environment for learning

Utilize computers to enhance learning and accommodate different learning styles

Utilize computers to develop proficient typing skills

 

Interact with a variety of software:

-Kid Pix -Ultra Key -Slam Dunk Typing -Volcano (CD ROM)

 

-Weather (CD ROM) -Volcanoes & Earthquakes (Laser Disk)

 

-Classroom Connect -Internet -AppleWorks
