Fifth Grade Technology Curriculum

Students participate in many activities which prepare them for a smooth transition to Junior High. During this time, there is increased emphasis on student planning and organization.

 

Technical Awareness/Fundamentals

Save and retrieve work in the student work folder

Demonstrate the ability to start up and shut down a computer

Demonstrate the ability to find information on the internet

Operate a computer using the pull down menu and tool bar

Demonstrate knowledge of computer terminology

Demonstrate simple data base skills

 

Instructional Application of Technology

Participate in a cooperative environment for learning

Utilize computers to enhance learning and accommodate different learning styles

Utilize computers to improve keyboarding skills (accuracy/speed)

 

Interact with a variety of software:

-Ultra Key -Slam Dunk Typing

-Windows on Science (Laser Disks) -Microsoft Power Point

 

-AppleWorks -Internet -Foresman Science Cd-SPA5
