Eighth Grade Technology Curriculum
Eighth grade is a time of preparation for high school. Student expectations and responsibilities are raised and students are acquiring the necessary skills to achieve future success.
Technical Awareness/Fundamentals
Save and retrieve work in student work files
Demonstrate independent computer and printer use
Demonstrate the ability to create a word processed document without errors
Demonstrate the ability to locate information on the internet
Demonstrate the ability to operate a CD-ROM
Demonstrate the ability to edit documents (cut, paste, copy, spell check)
Demonstrate the ability to create multimedia presentations utilizing presentation programs (Slide show, power point...)
Demonstrate the ability to create a multimedia presentation utilizing the internet, laser discs and CD-Roms.
Instructional Application of Technology
Participate in a cooperative environment for learning
Utilize the computers to improve keyboarding skills
Interact with a variety of software:
