6th Grade - Cello-Jello Project

Double click on the picture above to see the movie

Most days you would not want your child to eat their science project. Recently, however, some of the 6th graders couldn't help themselves. The students made cell models from gelatin and other delights. This article highlights some of the cells and provides project summaries written during language class. Thank you parents for making the jello! Without you, this project would not be possible. Click on a name below to see individual models of the student's work

Plant Cell by Kelsey F.
Paramecia by Andrew P.
Kyle J.'s Animal Cell
I made an animal cell out of jello, bubble gum, sprinkles, and gummy worms. I used the bubble gum for the nucleus, the sprinkles for the genes or the DNA, and I use the gummy worms for the cytoplasm. I learned that there is a lot to know about one single cell and that there are different kinds of cells. I enjoyed the project a lot and that there are ways to have fun in school especially science. I think that if you enjoy experiments you will do your work. Science can be fun for you if you do your homework. By: Jessica L.
