During an electrical unit in science the sixth grade students experienced with various hands-on stations such as electromagnets, magnets, static electricity, series and parallel circuits and a Van de Graaf generator. A Van de Graaf is a mechanical-electric device which produces extremely high voltage at low, safe levels of electric current.
